Which is the best license for me?

Whether you are an interconnect designer needing occasional use of a field solver for impedance calculation, an OEM designer needing fast and accurate impedance calculation, or a PCB fabricator interested in maximizing yield - Polar has a license option tailored to your requirement. Please read the following notes to find which is the best choice for you.

Quarterly and Annual subscription

Are ideal if you need a full time solution, but want to keep your options open in the longer term. 3 month subscriptions are especially useful on a project by project basis.  Annual subscriptions allow you to budget for your impedance requirements on a regular basis.  Both these licenses include technical support, and are electronically licensed.

Fixed full license

A full license  is ideal if you have long term impedance design requirements for one or two people in your organization. It includes tech support and minor releases free of charge for year one. Cost effective maintenance and support plans are available.

12 and 24 month pay monthly contract **

12 and 24 month contracts allow you to budget for your Polar software requirements on a planned monthly basis. Available for the full range of Polar software. 12 and 24 month contracts automatically renew at the anniversary. You may decline renewal by giving 60 days notice prior to the contract anniversary. Portable license

A portable USB key locked license for the  is ideal if you need to take your Polar software out of the office. This license is popular with PCB fabrication Sales / Application engineers who can use it on the road when meeting clients. Cost effective maintenance and support plans are available.

Floating 5 node 1 concurrent user license

A floating license for the Si8000 suits companies and organizations with long term impedance design requirements. The license is protected by Macrovision FLEXlm.  Floating licences are valid across multiple sites, however each concurrent user licence may be shared over a team of up to 5 defined user PCs (nodes). Each additional concurrent licence allows sharing over an additional 5 nodes.

Enterprise license

Enterprise licenses have no node restrictions and are licensed for multinational use and are ideal for larger teams working in multiple geographic locations.  Enterprise licenses are valid across multiple sites.

Triad Enterprise license

For enterprise customers requiring maximum license uptime the triad redundant license option is the preferred choice.

Si8000 Interface module license

The Si8000ce Interface module license allows OEM developers to include Polar's industry standard field solvers in their own application.  Licensed at the dll level, the interface module license allows developers direct access to the full package of over 80 model, the Si8000m Interface module license is ideal for you if you need a recognized standard source of impedance data. Included with the package is a full set of structure images in standard format. The Interface module is purchased from Polar by the end user and works in conjunction with a fully licensed Si8000m - developers will additionally need a Software development kit SDK licence. (more)

Virtualized environments

Polar currently offers support for VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualized environments as a chargeable upgrade. Please contact your local office if you wish to run Polar software in a virtualized environment.
