Automating impedance testing allows a high degree of measurement repeatability essential when tolerances are very tight. This repeatability is ensured as the RITS measurement system self verifies automatically to an internal standard every few minutes.

Air lines are the definitive standard for impedance calibration. Polar Instruments uses 30cm 28 Ohm, 50 Ohm, 75 Ohm and 100 Ohm air lines as reference standards. Our factory lines are traceable to NIST or NPL. 

Precision airline

A traceable airline is included on the test table to facilitate closed loop verification — the RITS regularly checks the line to verify the overall measurement accuracy is within specified limits.

The RITS500s is able to place the IP series controlled impedance test head probes with a high degree of accuracy — RITS minimum step resolution of just half a mil (0.0005") ensures accurate placement on the finest of land patterns.

Rapid setup

The RITS510a benefits from the quick change head assemblies, already established on the larger RITS520a. Now impedance heads can be changed in seconds.  When contrasted with fixture based impedance test systems, the rapid set up and lack of a requirement for many different fixtures means the RITS510a is flexible and has a cost of ownership which is only a fraction of fixture base systems. 

Reporting, datalogging and SPC

The RITS510a offers a range of data collection tools, from basic test file logging in ASCII format, through to professional report generation packages up to real time SPC packages, the RITS510a is directly compatible with QC-Calc real time SPC software, please contact Polar for more information on statistical reporting options

Adding a RITS510a to your existing Polar CITS800s
