Installing the Si8000/Si9000 evaluation software
Download the Si9000 or Si8000 (Version 3.00 or later) installer.
Apply for a time limited evaluation license.
Once you have received the license follow the procedure below.
Install the software. Follow the prompts to complete the installation. The Installer will create the C:\Program Files\Polar\Licences folder.
Installing the license file
We recommend that you locate the license file into the C:\Program Files\Polar\Licences folder. Use Windows Explorer to copy the License File to this location.
Start the program via the Windows Start|Programs menu or by double-clicking the associated icon.
During start up the software License Finder will prompt for a License File / Server location. Ensure that “Specify the License File” is selected and select Next to continue.
The License Finder prompts for the license file name. Enter the path/filename or click the Browse button to navigate to the file. (Using the Choose License File Dialog, browse to C:\Program Files\Polar\Licences and select the license file. Select Open. The License Finder will display the license file specified (your license file may be named differently).
Select Next to continue. The License Finder should display its completion message.
The software may display a message to indicate how many days are remaining before the license expires. Select OK to continue.
If the Si8000/Si9000 is to be used in conjunction with the SB200 Stackup Design System, start the SB200 and from the SB200 menu bar choose Tools|Options then choose the Configuration Options|Licencing tab.
In this example the Si8000 is shown.
Ensure the Use Polar Si8000 License check box is ticked. This will enable the exchange of controlled impedance data between the SB200 and the Si8000.
