Upgrading a Polar product Preparation for upgrading:
Starting with Version 18 Polar calculation engine software licenses are version controlled. If you are upgrading a Polar software product from a version prior to Version 18, before downloading please ensure that your current license will support the version of the Polar products listed below. Please note that 2018 and later licences for Si8000m, Si9000e and Speedstack will not support earlier versions of these products. For details see Application Note AP625 Note that if you are updating Speedstack PCB or Speedstack Si from an earlier version it will be necessary to reinstall both Speedstack and the associated Si8000m or Si9000e. Downloading the software Please note: This page is updated frequently to include the latest versions of software; if you experience download issues please refresh this page to ensure the latest copy is displayed. Licensing the software Polar software licensing is version controlled. Each version of software requires the associated version license – downloading Polar software via the links below will require a license corresponding to the version number indicated in the link. If your current license features refer to earlier software versions, it will be necessary to request a new license that supports the latest software. How to check your license version Open your license file in Windows Notepad and check the license version VENDOR_STRING=(xx) where (xx) is equal to or greater than 18. If in any doubt – please call us prior to upgrading. Version 21.01 and later of Polar Products and “counted” licenses If you are using a server-side/counted license (FlexLM) it will be necessary to upgrade FlexNet Publisher to version v11.19.0. (see AP618 Installing Polar software v21.01 and later) Please ensure this version is downloaded and installed prior to installing your new license. Note: Version 11.19.0 applies more stringent filtering than earlier versions to ethernet addresses that could be removable, such as virtual device addresses, Bluetooth addresses and wireless USB dongles. Modern laptops with only USB C connectors may include a built-in wireless network adaptor but rely on an external adaptor to provide wired network access. Version 11.19.0 of LMTOOLS utility may well therefore report fewer available ethernet addresses than earlier versions. If you are upgrading from an earlier version of Flex it may be necessary to resubmit your HostIDs to Polarcare and obtain an updated license file. |

Installing your Polar software

To install your Polar software follow the installation instructions in the links below: Floating licenses For a floating license you will need to download the server side installer. Refer to Application Note AP606 Installing server and client license software. Node locked licenses For a node-locked license refer to Application Note AP607 Installing Polar node locked software Software key licenses For a software key (dongle) license you will need to download the software key driver. See Application Note AP620 Installing hardware key drivers If you have any difficulties with installation please refer to Application Note AP183 which addresses the most commonly encountered problems. |
